snippets: why it's so darn hard to turn on the lights

not the prettiest picture, but i wanted to share a little snippet for those asking about living here in india. :)

this is how we turn on the lights in our office. i'm not making this up. every outlet (and every fan and every light and every hot water heater) has its own switch. while it's super practical from a money and energy saving standpoint, it means it takes us a while to turn on our lights in the morning. it also means we end up shutting lights off on people when we don't intend to. :)
