one of the things hubs and i wanted to do (and by 'hubs and i wanted' i mean, i wanted and somehow talked him into thinking it would be fun) was to ride bikes around downtown denver and take pictures of some of the funny, interesting and unique landmarks and buildings around the city. we spent several hours today riding around with my dslr and my nifty new holga lens for it.
the last hoo-rahs continue.
here are some highlights from our bike tour. the photos are largely unedited- mostly just cropped. i love this lens.

click any to see it larger (more details! more color! more built-in dirt! more toy camera quirks!)
the 'dancing aliens' in front of the performing arts center.
performing arts center.
love how this turned out.
looking into the center.
j took this one. isn't it fun? (the aliens make such interesting subject matter.)
i made the linen pants in this picture. i don't care how much i look like a hobo, i wear these all the time. at the rate i'm going, i may wear them out before india.
ellie caulkins opera house in the foreground.
i took this while riding my bike.
the giant blue bear peeking into the convention center. isn't he cool? (so, so much cooler than the creepy-ass blue horse nicknamed 'blucifer' outside DIA?) this bear is cute. way cuter than the one that busted into my car 5 years ago. (true story.)
i love how this turned out. who says you have to spend hundreds of dollars on a fancy lens for something fantastic? outside the convention center.
14th and stout.
larimer square.
15th and wewatta. every time i drive by this i admire this juxtaposition of color and style.
museum of contemporary art. aka, 'the place with that giant heart with a dagger in it.'
why didn't anyone ever tell me how rad the cherry creek bike path is? i snapped this while a train was passing over the bridge. it was a little scary to ride underneath the bridge with a giant train clacking overhead!
though we didn't get quite everywhere (i wanted to snap a few of the big wells fargo building built to look like a bank, as well as some of the gorgeous houses in cheeseman), i'm quite happy with how all of the photos i was able to take turned out! we also live a lot closer to downtown than i thought. even still, i think i'd need a bike with a motor to get everywhere. any takers? :)
